Leasing begins on one of the world’s largest cannabis cultivation complexes

One of the largest and most comprehensive properties is now leasing spaces for growers, manufacturers and ancillary businesses, in Desert Hot Springs, California. BlackStar Industrial Properties, LLC, is building over 560,000 sq ft of cultivation space – making it one of the largest in the world, and also features an additional 60,000 sq ft of space for manufacturing and extraction companies.

Unlike many other facilities in the area that have faced difficulties or have failed to materialize, this mega cannabis campus, named “Gold Flora Farms,” is on-track, with Phase One completion scheduled for late 2017.

Applications are now being accepted for up to 32 cultivators and 12 manufacturing or extraction companies.

BlackStar has been working with Denver Consulting Group to help manage the large project.

“This development is unlike any other in the world,” said Greg Gamet, Co-Founder of Denver Consulting Group and Chief Cannabis Officer for Gold Flora Farms. “We are combining the world-class experience in commercial building and development that BlackStar Industrial Properties provides, along with our award-winning expertise in the cannabis industry, to create a state-of-the-art facility.”

BlackStar Industrial Properties will offer the sites to premium brands and industry-leading companies. The facility will house growers, producers, processors, testing labs, packaging companies and distributors, all in one complex.

The team at BlackStar has developed and entitled large properties in California for over 20 years, and has won numerous awards, including “Project of the Year.” The company built the first all-solar and all-green powered urban community in Los Angeles, and is known for its eco-friendly designs and quality craftsmanship.

Denver Consulting Group provides expertise in navigating the complex rules and regulations that govern California’s cannabis industry, and will make the licensing and startup process easy for tenants.

The teams worked together to ensure that every detail, from land planning to compliance to facility layout, was completed to the highest standards. “With our unique combined teams and skillsets, we have the expertise to assure success in every area of this diverse project,” said Laurie Holcomb, Managing Member of BlackStar Industrial Properties.

“Land development and entitlement are our core competencies,” Holcomb added. “There were other cannabis properties in the general area, but based on our 20 years of construction experience, we selected our site because it provides better proximity to utilities to help bring costs down and to deliver the power needed for cultivation and manufacturing.”

When completed, Gold Flora Farms will be the finest full-service cannabis complex in the world.

“We look forward to working with the best growers and business operators in the industry, and providing them with exceptional facilities, support and management,” Gamet said. “Gold Flora Farms will be the new gold standard.”

Denver Consulting Group will be showcasing the property on June 12-14 at the NCIA Cannabis Business Summit in Oakland, at the company’s booth.
